Hello…
I want to make this for my daughter and she has a twin bed. Twin and full size beds are the same length. Just not as wide. Twin is 75x 38 and full is 75×54. If I’m correct, I could purchase the plan and the adjust the width dimensions for the bottom railing, the headboard/footboard and roof by 16 inches. Everything else should be the same correct?
Hello,
Do you have plans available for the Sliding barn door loft bed for a twin size mattress?
Hi Sean,
No, I’m sorry I don’t! These plans are for a full size mattress.
do you mack the loft bed for us or do we mack it
Hi Faith,
This listing is for a PDF plan with step-by-step directions on how to build it. Hope that helps!
Is there a twin version available?
Also dying to know when the twin version will be available!
Hi! Do you have a timeframe of when the twin size plans will be available? Thanks!
Hi,
Great project! My daughter would like the bed on the bottom and “chill zone” on top. Any chance the plans include this?
Hi Glenn,
No, the plans show how to build the bed on top, but I believe it would be fairly easy to modify the plans so that the bed is on the bottom. You’d need to add a platform on top for the “chill zone.” Happy to answer any questions you might have along the way!
I would love to buy these plans for a twin bed size. Any chance those are available or that you’ll make them soon? Thanks!
Hi, Nicole,
Drawing plans for a twin size is on my To Do list! Thanks for asking!
Have you adjusted the plans to a twin bed yet?
After you build the loft bed. How do you put in the mattress?
Hi Jose,
It’s actually best to put the mattress in when you assemble 3 of the 4 walls (and before the roof is put in) so you won’t have to squeeze it in after the bed’s completely built.
Hi. if I want to do it for a twin bed, which dimensions would be the ones that would need to be change
Hello! I just purchased your sliding barn door loft bed blueprint! I have been racking my brain for a couple hours now and would love to pick your brain! I want to build this for my 2 boys! However! our ceiling is only 8ft. Where do you think it would be best on the prints to shorten it down to make it fit their room? I tired to email you personally but it kept sending back an error. :/
Thanks!
Ashley
Hi Ashley,
Thanks so much for your support! You could shorten the legs, but do keep in mind this will reduce the height underneath the bed. Hope that helps!
Hi Ashley, I’m thinking of doing the same for my daughter. Instead of lowering the legs I’m thinking of removing most of the roof altogether. Then attaching some material to the side with windows and possibly nailing some wood to the adjacent wall (at the top) and attaching the material to that. It would be a slanted roof but seems easy enough. I just don’t know how much room there is from the part of the bed where the mattress is to the top of the bed in the plans. Jen, can you tell me the dimensions from the base of the bed where the mattress sits (starting at the 48.5 in the diagram) to the top of the bed before you have a roof on? I need to know if there would be enough space still to sit/sleep comfortably if I only have 8 foot ceilings. I hope that makes sense.
Hi Missy,
If I understand you correctly, the measurement from the bottom of the mattress box to the top of the legs is 34 inches. Hope that helps!
How do i get the plans? Is it possible bij email?
Do you also send the planes to europe?
Hi Will,
Yes, once you purchase the plans, they are sent via email. Thanks!
In step 8a, at what angle should they stairs be cut at to be flush with the bed?
Hi Shay,
Per the plans, the stairs are at about a 25º angle, but I’d recommend holding the boards at your desired angle and cutting them to fit.
Is the cost around 550 in materials or does that include the mattress. Thanks
Hi Casey,
The $550 is just for cost of materials (lumber, paint, etc.). It does not include the cost of a mattress.
Is the 20 dollars for blueprints?
Hi Kv,
Yes, you’ll receive printable PDF plans for this build.
This is awesome. Will start working on it for a Christmas gift for my girls. I had a question about one part of the plans. Is there a contact I can reach out to in order to get some clarification?
Hi Damen,
Yes of course! Feel free to email me!
Do you know what this roughly costs for supplies to build yourself?! Thanks
Hi Jessica,
Cost of materials will vary, but our costs were around $550. Thanks!
