Ana, Amazing design!
I love it and am currently checking with local building department about legality of placing this on my property.
One question: Did you do build videos for this THOW like you did for your first one? If so, I’d appreciate a link, because I cannot find this videos, except for your excellent tour video.
Thank you very much.
Thank you! We did not do separate videos on the build because it is so similar to the one we did provide videos for. We only really videoed the final projects and the walk through. Hope this helps!
Just wondering what exactly was used to make the lift for the bed, the tracks specifically.
We used heavy duty sliding garage door hardware, it’s built by National Hardware and available at most farm supply stores or rural hardware stores.
how much does it weight ?
We aren’t really sure – my husband estimates less than his skidsteer (about 10K) – the triple pane windows we used were very heavy but not necessary in a different climate.
Dear Ana,
what a great plan and I cannot believe your creativity in coming up with all of these super clever ideas.
Quick question though: Where is the heating coming from in this one?
Thanks and have a great day!
Jenny
Hi Jenny, thank you!
The heater is a toyo stove, the smallest model. It works great even for our Alaska climate.
Hi Ana
I was wondering if your plans come with a material list?
Oh how I would love to move into this amazing home tomorrow, but we have a huge old house packed with a lifetimes collection. Even National geographic since before the war. 🙁 I do not even know where to start to be honest. We have to sell so it is perhaps possible in a year or so. My husband thinks it is too wide and would not be allowed in Europe. Is this true? I also wanted to know what the height is, and what would pull it on the road ?!? Have you travelled with it yet?
I love the huge window, and the bed was brilliant. I would hesitate at using the stool to get into the bed, as with my luck it would roll away. I did see advertised recently a toilet that was hidden by a basin which was interesting when it comes to space saving.
I am looking down at my 26 year old cat, 2 others, plus a tiny wind hound Italian whippet, and lastly a wolfhound of 80 kilos 🙂 The latter is ruled by the 4 kilos of whippet, also she is scared of storms and always tries to creep onto our bed. After the third leg gets on the bed you cannot help but notice her !!!
We are serious, my husband is sick of stairs, and we will have to move, only right now we have no idea what will happen as regards Brexit. Crazy, I am Scottish and really hope they do not want to be independant if it does go ahead. Billions of money spent on what ! What a world.
I wish you both all the very best with your plans you really are so talented.
Thanks,
Fran.
Wow, just came across the video of this home on YouTube and it’s completely amazing! Probably the single best piece of design work I’ve ever seen. I live in a 400 square foot house (non-mobile), so I really appreciate all of the convertible furniture ideas and solutions. Incredible!!
Thank you!
Does plans include electric and water hookup diagrams?
No, the plans do not include electric or water hookup but we did film the entire process and you can find the videos and details here: http://www.ana-white.com/2017/01/open-concept-rustic-modern-tiny-house-photo-tour-and-sources
Best design & use of space I’ve seen yet! I’m really not into small living for myself but maybe someday…… Too many kids & animals!
Thank you!
Hi again, Ana. Sorry, I saw the price.
Hi Ana. What is the price for this house?
Hi Ana, really love this design, so clever. Curious to know how you achieve sufficient insulation, given the house is on a trailer and in Alaska! Thanks.
We spray foamed the framing, it heated well with just a plug in electric heater – we were quite impressed. The home owner also said he was amazed at the efficiency.
Hello Ana, I saw you left a reply with an estimate, I know that prices and the work and all that can change. My question is if I want a small trailer can that be possible? I am doing my research and I like your work. I want it to be easy to tow around since I will be traveling a lot.
Thank you, wish you the very best! 🙂
Love it all!!! Can I order one shown in the video to be built by you?
Thank you! I’m so sorry – we live in rural Alaska, and it’s just not cost feasible for us to build for others. The good news is there are lots of amazing builders everywhere!
How much did this home sell for? What are your prices for one similar to this? We’ve been toying with the idea of tiny homes and seen some prices but we LOVE the simplicity of this one- more than any other we’ve come across. I’d love know if that’s ok!
Is it possible for this to be built for off grid living?
The great thing about tiny houses is you can customize to suit your needs. The plans don’t include utilities, but one could easily add for off grid living.
Hi Ana! First.. HOLY SMOKES – Lady, I’ve been following the TH movement for about 8 yrs now and have been trying to find ‘the right plan’ due to a medical condition (ie, I can’t climb to lofts due to vertigo, bad knees (dadgum soccer and basketball), etc.).. Was SOOO thrilled when I ran across your video on Pinterest and am now in the process of purging from a 2400 sq ft home to go tiny and travel (then land back here in TX on ranch land)! So my question is this. With regard to your plans, you mention they’re free but then I note a package for sale. What is the difference? Presuming the package includes schematics for plumbing, electrical, etc.? Or is it something different.. Thanks much and THANK YOU for being bold and putting this out in the www for all to enjoy!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you like the tiny house.
We don’t include exacts on plumbing and electrical because this usually varies by location to meet codes. We did do video on plumbing here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZl5iefn9bQ&t=31s
What does it mean when it says framing shell. Does that mean that is all i’m buying or is pluming and all that included.I just have to put the furniture in myself. Is that what it means.
This is just a plan to build it yourself of have a contractor build it for you. To be clear this is a file to be viewed on a computer and printed.
Hi,I was wondering if I ever bought one if you could do it in horses like the designer.Like the pillows things like that or do I just do all that myself.By the way I love how you did the barn door that was vary creative.
Hi, Ana! Your plan is, by far, the most brilliant design with creative and ingenious ways to utilize space! I can’t wait to get started! I do have 1 question. I know you used the triple glazed windows to suit your climate in Alaska. I live in Eastern Washington; would I be able to use different windows to save weight being that our climate is much less drastic? Thank you!
Thank you! I’m sorry for the late reply – we have been on maternity leave.
I would definitely consider lighter windows (double pane) if in a milder climate. Perhaps check to see what the standard is in your local area, and go with that. Hope this helps Ana
