Hi Ana! Amazing design. I am in love with your creation; it is amazing what you have done with the space. I do have a question, the design plan include the electrical too? Thank you.
Hi, thank you!
The sketchup file shows where we placed our electrical boxes, but does not include an electrical plan, as codes and local requirements may require installation and planning to be done by a licensed electrician.
Hallo,
I have found You by Youtube in Europe.
We starts now such Tiny House build in Germany are You able to convert such Plans in Mteric version ?
We have big Trailors/Frames selfmade 7,7m long, 2,5m width and can be up to 3,5m high. Trailor have 13metric tonnes capacity.
So I think that is not so much Tinny House anymore 🙂
End on Juni we will firsts 2 pcs ready
As very interesting thing we will use Solar Panels with electric heating element in Water Tank for Hot Water.
Is the roof a good slant for snowy environments?
Hello, the slope of the roof is low, so may not be suitable for high snow environments. I do not recommend a steeper pitched roof, as this would make ceiling height above bed and raised kitchen area quite low on the lower slanted side. The roof is quite small, snow could easily be pushed off regularly if needed (or pulled off with a snow rake).
Can i get the measurments units in mm/cm?
Hi, I am sorry we do not have measurements in metric but the sketchup file included can be set to the metric system and plans easily modified and exported from the sketchup file.
Hi Ana, your plan looks amazing and we have purchased them in order to inspire us for building our own tiny house. In the larger scheme of things we aim to set up an accomodation business following principles of tiny small and sustainable living, including open source plans and designs. Our question to you is whether we may use pictures of your tiny house in our business plan and hopefully promote your plans in our future business. Note, we do not aim to pretend to have designed the house ourselves and want to credit you appropriately. If you wish to get more information, please contact us on greatoceanecoretreat@gmail.com
Ana, Not only are you beautiful, But you’re so fricken smart! I just may purchase from you in the future. Some of your ideas remind me of something I might have come up with!!!
Thank you so much, you are too kind!
does you design work for building a non-mobile structure? If so, do I need to have a foundation or can I place footers on the corners?
To save on overall height, the floor build up in this tiny house is just 2×4 – that would not be enough support. You could do pier posts with beams and then floor joist on top, followed by plywood. Since foundations differ depending on soils/climate etc, perhaps ask around locally what would be necessary for a shed foundation.
Hi, can I ask what the max external height for this was? Canada is picky and won’t give a regular trailer license if it’s too tall.
With the trailer we used, it was just under 13’6″ – the height requirements for US. Your height will depend on the trailer and also consider roofing material adding to height. This tiny house can be shortened pretty easily and the inside wouldn’t be greatly affected by shortening it.
Hi,
I just came across your tiny house video for the second time in about 6 months and watched it right through both times. I have watched a few wheeled mobile tiny house videos and sea can videos, etc. I really like what you have done here. I come from Saskatchewan and appreciate the fact that this is an all season design. Wonderful use of natural lighting throughout. Well thought out simple solutions that aern’t made out of plastic. You can walk in even if the heat has been off and hang up something without snapping the hooks. It looks as though the materials should wear well also. So many rv’s and even mobile home mfg use plastic taps and faucets, plastic widow/door latches, plastic laminated walls, plastic moldings, plastic hooks, plastic grab handles, plastic… Excellent work. Living away from big box stores and IKEA is a bonus to your skills and build quality.
Thank you so much, we do have different things to worry about in the colder climates, don’t we? Thank you for appreciating!
Hello Ana,
I have looked at tiny houses for some time now trying to find the most suitable layout for the intendend purpose. I want to build a tiny house for the use of students writing their phd or similar academic goals. They need peace and quiet and an internet connection 😉 The German university town I want to place it at has a large number of students and limited affordable living space. (In Germany the students do not live on a campus but rather in private accomodations often shared flats with 2 or 3 students.)
Sooo, I need to adapt your plans to the metric system. Do you have any experience with that ?
I cannot do much work myself but would need to ask a woodworking company to construct the frames. Therefore adapted measurements are needed.
Foam insulation is mostly used arround doors and windows. Less within frames. Stonewool is much more common. Would you know if I have to adjust the thickness of the walls accordingsly?
Lastly, this is not going to be a THOW but stationary. Any recommandations as to foundations required? Point foundations would be preferred but I would like to hear your thoughts on this, if possible.
Oh, and how high is the house at the highest point / the lowest point ?
Did I mention, that this is my favourite layout ? I love it!
Warm regards from Germany
P.S. there are other German would-be-builders who are enchanted with this design and look forward to more information. Is it alright for me to share ?
Hi Konstanze, I haven’t adapted the plans for metric – it will depend on what type of building materials you have there? This build is pretty simple, most construction companies should be able to understand and build with ease.
The foundation will depend on your soils/location etc – I would ask what is common for shed foundations locally. You may be able to do pier posts and beams quite easily.
On the trailer the tiny house is 13’6″ – our trailer deck was right at 28″.
Thank you so much! I can’t wait to see a German version!
I’m a student in school right now and I am so excited. My dad and I are building a tiny house for me to move into when I’m done school. I wanted to own my own place and have the freedom to take home with me so this just seemed right! in two years I plan to use your plan with a few alterations on a 26′ trailer! I’m so excited and I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
I’m excited for you too! The 26′ trailer will help add more space and good for you for working hard to own your own place so young!
Hi Ana, I’m trying to purchase the plans but it won’t let me. It redirects me to sandbox PayPal, which I believe is a “test payment for PayPal. So I can’t login yo my PayPal account because it won’t send me to PayPal directly. Also, I see other payment method symbols but can’t access it. I could just use my credit card but can’t find the way to do so. I would appreciate any help. Thanks
Hi Audrey,
Thanks so much for your support! The plans purchase link should be working now. Thank you for the heads up!
Hi Audrey, I’m sorry to hear about trouble with the new site. We have done some work and hope it is fixed? Thank you! Ana
This is one of the most unique designs I’ve seen in a tiny house. Great use of space.
I love it, Ana!
The simplicity is captivating!
And do I understand, for under $40,000.
I am brand new to Tiny Homes, just in the saving stages.
Do you have individual plans for the interior things like the storage cabinet with the sliding doors that become desks and table? Or do I have to buy the entire set of plans? I want to possibly use this idea in my fifth wheel.
Hi Mary, all of the interior plans are available on my blog for free – http://www.ana-white.com/2017/01/open-concept-rustic-modern-tiny-house-photo-tour-and-sources
Hi Ana! I am so thankful to have found your Tiny House. I look forward to purchasing and collaborating with you!
Hi,
I’m considering building a similar house and have been wondering how much this one weighs and also if your customer has had any “if I were to do it again” thoughts.
Thanks!
Hi, I’m trying to buy these plans but I can’t get them in my cart. I’ve tried the different icons and still I’m told my cart is empty.
Hi Pam, I’m sorry to hear you are having trouble. From the homepage http://www.sprucdmarket.com can you hover over the tiny house plans and click “add to cart” when it pops up? This then should take you directly to the shopping cart. Hope this works!
Hi, Could you give me the gross weight of this set-up for towing purposes?
We didn’t weigh it, but my husband felt like it was about the same weight as his skidsteer when towing it – so around the 10,000 pound mark (as is with other tiny houses of this size). The big windows added alot of weight since we had to go triple glazed for Alaska.
could you tell me how much it would cost to build this ?
Hello, the cost to build can vary quite a bit. The big expenses are going to be the trailer, windows, spray foam insulation, siding, roofing, interior finish, fixtures and utilities. We estimate between $20 and $30K depending on level of finish and amenities. That being said, this tiny house is one of our least expensive to build models because of the simplicity in design – less labor and less material waste to build. Hope this helps!
Did this range already include labour cost? Many thanks for your answer in advance!!!!
It includes cost of some labor, not mine or my husbands.
Could you tell me the square footage and outside measurements of this house?
This tiny house is on a 24 foot long, 8-1/2 foot wide trailer. The exact model is the PJ Trailers Super Wide Channel B6. The package includes a Sketchup file that is easy to work with and modify to any size trailer. It is built between the wheel wells. Total footprint is right at 200 square feet.
With all of the recent health problems related to spray in foam insulation I honestly would not recommend it.
