This Elegant Farmhouse Table is a great beginner project, which can be built in an afternoon.  The digital PDF plans include easy to follow and clear step by step instructions, together with 3D diagrams, recommended tools, a material and cut list. Painting and varnishing tips are also included.  

Metric measurements are used, and standard South African wood sizes, however, since this is a relatively simple project, converting it to Imperial units should be a breeze. If you choose to have your wood cut at your local hardware store, then this will eliminate the need for a table saw and circular saw, making the project even simpler and quicker to build. 

This table is 775mm wide x 1030mm long x 400mm high, but can be easily adapted to make a larger table if need be.
